We would like to share the importance of ballet training in your child's education ~ ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and enhances and strengthens a student's overall dance quality. **Some restrictions apply to qualify for the High School Credit Program. Please contact our Artistic Director to determine your child's eligibility and to discuss the course curriculum. The "DanceCo Dancers" The DanceCo Dancers is a group of selected dancers from DanceCo that perform at various venues throughout the year. Many former members of the Company have gone on to professional careers in the dance community.
This is a performing company available to any dancer taking a minimum of 3 hours of dance a week with a strong technical and performing background. Members will be selected by audition only. Syllabus and Examinations DanceCo Ltd. is a Certified Educational Institute offering training in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus, Cecchetti syllabus and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), all are internationally recognized methods of study. Grades examinations in the ISTD, Cechetti and RAD syllabi are concerned with progressive mastery and clearly defined structure in defined stages within the context of safe dance practice. The Graded Examinations build up progressively, ensuring that steps and skills learned at lower levels prepare for more complex movements as the dancer progresses. Following on from the graded examinations, dancers may wish to prepare for the Vocational Graded Examinations as preparation for employment as a professional dancer or as preparation for dance teaching qualifications. The Graded Examinations also allow for those participating solely for recreational purposes to produce quality work in a safe dance context. Exams are encouraged for those who are interested, however not compulsory. The dancer's teacher along with the Artistic Director will determine it if a particular student is ready to be taking an exam. There are extra fees involved with taking exams but the exact amounts vary with each level and discipline. If a parent has any questions regarding their child taking an exam, it is best if they speak directly to their child's teacher. |
