This is Lana’s second year teaching at DanceCo. Lana grew up in Grande Prairie, where she started tap dancing at the age of 3. Lana is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical/contemporary, musical theater and hip hop. Lana moved Edmonton to continue her education. Lana is currently a Physical & Occupational Therapist Assistant at the University of Alberta Hospital. Lana will be going back to school in the fall to work towards her BSc in Nursing. She has had to opportunity to travel across Canada performing and taking classes. Most recently Lana had the opportunity to watch a performance by Brad “Shooz” Rapier (founder of the Groovaloos) in New York City. Lana is a highly trained dancer and choreographer with 17 years dance experience, and 6 years teaching experience. She is trained in CDTA, RAD, Cecchetti and Al Gilbert dance syllabi. Lana received Honours in her CTDA Gold Star Tap Exam, and has successfully completely and trained students for exams in all disciplines. Lana has won various 1st place and “Most Outstanding” titles for herself and many of her students. She has been invited to perform at Capital Ex (Klondike Days) 2 years in a row. Lana has also won the title “Dancer of the Festival” and many tap and hip hop scholarships; most recently at Artists Emerge Lana and her hip hop group Flava won 1st place and Diamond standing, along with the ICON Award. She is very proud of all of her accomplishments and wishes to pass along her knowledge and love of Dance to all of her students at DanceCo!
